About me.

My name is Laura and I created Treebark Pets, LLC in a mission to help shelter dogs receive the extra care they need while they wait for their forever home. I have spent my entire life working alongside animals in kennels, shelters, rescues, hospitals, big brand pet stores, grooming salons, and even exotics at the zoo. Although, after I realized the demand for experienced pet groomers in shelters and saw the desperate need in the eyes of so many homeless pets, I knew I found what I was meant to do.
After 15 years of working with dogs, going to college, receiving my Bachelors in Environmental Policy & Regulation, and trying to find my way in life, I went to dog grooming school. My rescue yorkie, Lily, who has now gone to the rainbow bridge at the ripe old age of 20, always needed grooming and I didn't trust many people with her as she was a puppy mill rescue and had a lot of anxiety as she got older. There are many dogs in rescue organizations and shelters that have been through trauma and hard times, just like my Lily, and I want to help them too. Many dogs come into the shelter in very rough shape. Some of them come in matted from head to toe, while others have skin infections, flea allergies, and some are just plain stinky.  Treebark Pets, LLC helps me continue on grooming dogs that need that extra care to help them find their forever home. Once these dogs are clean, cute, and more approachable, their adoption rates increase, and I'm here to prove it to the rest of the world.
Currently, most of the products on this website I handmade myself with love. Every hair bow and bandana you see listed, I made from upcycled fabrics. I also made sure that all of the online packaging used to ship my products are 100% compostable. I care about the environment just as mush as I care about all the homeless dogs.
I'm excited to see where this new journey of entrepreneurship will take me and I hope you follow along as well!
